Nordhausen - In order to be able to offer services in the field of water and drinking water without restrictions in the future, the Plant Engineering business unit decided to apply for GW 301 certification at the beginning of 2021. After a preliminary examination of the process by Burkhard Senk, Head of Welding Supervision, and Robert Franz, Head of Business Development Water, all the necessary documents were compiled together with Henry Schnause and Steffi Tempel. In July, the certification was applied for. Then, on December 7, the successful audit took place on behalf of DVGW CERT GmbH. Among other things, the operational management system (BMS) was checked. The audit also included a site inspection at the Ellrich waterworks project and technical discussions on the topics of water and welding. The GW 301 certification entitles the company to work on drinking water supply and connection pipes in the municipal and public sectors and, in particular, on drinking water supply and treatment plants. Schachtbau Nordhausen is now the first company in the BAUER Group to be awarded certification as a DVGW specialist company for the construction, repair and integration of pipelines. This certification is already being used for the contract "Connection of CHP plant no. 5" at the sewage treatment plant in Leipzig-Rosental. Here, Schachtbau's plant engineers are supplying piping in stainless steel and steel for gas, waste gas and heat.
