Freiberg - More than 70 regional and national companies and institutions presented themselves at the career fair ORTE, the job fair of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, on January 12, 2023. Since 2009, the fair has offered students and graduates from the fields of technology, economics, natural sciences and computer science the opportunity to get in touch with company representatives and ask questions about hiring opportunities, internships and final theses every year. In addition, students and visitors benefit from an extensive supporting program, including an application photo shoot or application portfolio check including optimization suggestions from experts.

This year, Tobias Höppner, head of department for mining projects nationally, and personnel officer Aline Metzler for Schachtbau attended the fair. The two were supported by BMA Sales Manager Michael Starzynski, who is a graduate of Freiberg Technical University. At their joint stand, they introduced the company to students and provided information about internships and the opportunities for writing student research projects or diploma theses in cooperation with Schachtbau or Bauer. The organizers counted 4000 visitors on this day. Tobias Höppner also draws a positive conclusion: "The fair was well attended and there was a lively demand at our stand."
