Nordhausen/Berlin-Schönerlinde - Not only a special form of award and contract, but also a challenging project size is the special feature of the service ordered by Berliner Stadtwerke (BSW) via Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) to the plant engineering company SCHACHTBAU NORDHAUSEN GmbH. The single order on the sewage treatment plant in Berlin-Schönerlinde in the amount of 16.5 million Euros is the largest single order in the last 30 years for the plant engineering company and represents a decisive milestone.
As a total contractor, this order for the shaft builders includes not only the construction of the sewage gas treatment and gas utilization in two combined heat and power plants, each with an output of 1.2 MW, but also the approval planning for the entire plant in accordance with a functional performance specification. In addition, the plant engineers are responsible for the overall planning up to the final acceptance by the authorities after successful commissioning and trial operation in February 2025.
"Various successfully completed individual contracts for Berliner Wasserbetriebe, in particular also in the field of sewage treatment plants and waterworks, stood as reference projects and led not least to the client's conviction of our company's capabilities," Robert Franz, Head of Business Development Water at Schachtbau Nordhausen, proudly reports.
