Oberhausen - On March 30, the rail overpass over the Rhine-Herne Canal in Oberhausen was shifted. The contract for the single-track, single-span steel truss superstructure with closed carriageway and continuous ballast bed has a volume of just under 2 million euros. From October to March, the steel erectors from Schachtbau Nordhausen preassembled the individual components of the 64 m long and 8 m wide bridge on site. By means of a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) and a pontoon, the structure was then moved and transported to its destination within seven hours at the end of March. The construction work will be completed in July and the rail bridge handed over to the client. Alongside Unterensingen, Rüdesheim and Bremerhaven, the Oberhausen railroad overpass is one of four projects that SCHACHTBAU NORDHAUSEN Stahlbau GmbH is currently implementing for Deutsche Bahn AG.
